Vic: Govt setting parliament days to avoid scrutiny, opposition
Victorian Liberal Party leader DENIS NAPTHINE says the BRACKS government has engineered
the current parliament's sitting days to stop sustained attack from the Opposition.
The lower house of state parliament has so far sat for only three days in February,
three days in March, and will sit for only three days this month.
The lower house then sits for two non-consecutive weeks in May for six days and nine
days over three consecutive weeks in June.
Dr NAPTHINE says he is very concerned that parliament has sat one week in February,
one week in March and one week in April.
He says he believes that they have deliberately manipulated the calendar to ensure
that the Opposition can't target particular ministers and bring those ministers to account.
A government response on the matter was not immediately available.
