Cuffe's ex-wife says payout distressing
The former wife of CHRIS CUFFE -- recipient of Australia's most expensive golden handshake-- says she won't benefit from his massive payout.
Mr CUFFE -- the former chief executive of Colonial First State -- received a $32.75million termination payout when he resigned this month.
VICKI CUFFE says she was unprepared for the media attention which followed the news, and is concerned about its impact on their three young children, adding it's been a distressingtime.
Ms CUFFE says she and the children had received no benefit from the money.
She says in a statement it's unfair for the media to connect her with the huge payout.
Ms CUFFE says she was upset that while Mr CUFFE'S former colleagues had been warnedof the impending media fall-out, she had not.
She's asked the media to leave her and her children alone.
Mr CUFFE'S payout was made public last Wednesday by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, which took over the Colonial group in 2000 and inherited Mr CUFFE and his contract.
